After a bit of a total faff.....

Jacking up, Not happy with that - Off jack, Try again at a different place - Hmmmm can't get axle stand in place now - off Jack, Lift again, wtf.... Jack sprung a leak feck feck feck.....

Off to the auto Factors....A considerably sum later for a 3 tonne Jack - Doesn't lift high enough but is the biggest I can get without paying a Kings fecking ransome for one....

Time to play 'Stig of the Dump' - off to the local recycling centre to find a few pieces of hardwood to use as spacers (I know- naughty Ant, should jack like that) - find a few pieces that will do the trick....

All this mucking around takes nearly 2 hours after I find a place with a large enough jack....

Home again, spitting with rain - no matter, made of hardy stock me.....

Jack up the car (again) wheel off, Dust covers off the Hex Socket Head Slide Pins for the Caliper....a quick check - Allen Key Socket Heads - Super, open tool box and pull out Allen Key Set....10mm, 8mm, 6mm, 5mm 4mm,3mm.....etc

8mm to big......6mm too small.....no 7mm in my set.....1/4" to Small.....feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck feck......I don't own any others.....

Trully fed up, p!ssed off, wet, fed up, achey, head ache......gonna have junk food for dinner......

Once you have all finished arguing about the EGR valve (again):D:D - Does anyone know the size required to fit the Caliper slide pins on a 2003 4.4 L322 ???? - cos I think you can guess where my first port of call is tomorrow morning...!!!!

It is possible to grind/file down allen keys to fit as i've done it loads of times to get me out of the ****e.
As regards the jack,it can only be an "O" ring thats blown so get a new one.

Had mine off a couple of weeks ago
I believe it was a 7mm
Typical the one you haven't got in your toolbox

Halfords is open till 8, go grab one for tomorrow lol

Have a god kip, it'll all feel better in the morning!

If it's any comfort, I'm doing battle with mine tomorrow.

If you hear swearing around 10.30 it's me without a 7mm allen key!

No need to rub it in---------------second thoughts,as you were :D

I had a similar faff with that oddball size grub screw in the P38 eas compressor - tried all of the 200 Allen keys I seemingly have, none fitted properly, ended up paying £25 for a full set of long reach Allen keys. I bet I'm still missing a 7mm when the time comes
