What would you buy ?

Hi, use the forum as got a freelander td4 es 2001, only had it for about 5 weeks and our first 4x4 (wifes use's it for work) my question is since having it and driving it , i really want a Range rover !

been looking at them on autotrader/ebay etc.. and knowing nothing about them thought the folks on here should be able to give me plently of advice

If i sell the Freelander its worth about £4500-£4850 (mint and drives great full leather and everything but no service histroy but lots of recent bills £2k)

So £4500-£5000 pounds should get me 96-99 range rover but what model ?

2.5 bmw diesel ? or LPG 4.0/4.6 needs pretty good miles per gallon so if petrol got to be LPG.

most i have looked at have coverd 130k plus ! is high mileage OK on these ?

what would you recommend ? and what should i look out for ?

I have an R reg 2.5 diesel manual, with 176k and have had very few problems that a little TLC & elbo grease won't cure. I have tried the auto, both petrol & diesel and the answer is quite simple: NO THANKS!!!!

The next biggy: lead right foot and easily getting 32mpg, towing & traffic to boot.

The only mods are a K&N air filter and a rimmer bros power box jobby.
Oh and plenty of oil, grease and especially elbo grease.

To be honest, theres nothing i would rather have instead, not even the ol' cobra (Which is why its for sale. . . )
