trying to put a rear air bag on and it keeps folding and wont inflate properly nothing i am doing will stop it from doing this its a new bag and i have done them before with no probs any ideas please before i put a match to it

Should be folded over to start with? Does it inflate off the car? (Don't put more than 20psi or so in it off the car as the top will blow off!) Are the little o-rings OK in the connector where the pipe pushes in?

is it correctly aligned from factory, twisting? or if right give it time to inflate before lowering car?

what do you mean by correctly aligned??

tried to get it to inflate before lowing the car but its wont inflate past the fold just near the bottom of the bag i even tried to take the weight of after it had been going for 20 min thinking it would open up fully but it wont pop the fold out , its a brand new bag that inflated properly of the car but once in place it says sod off tried for 4 and a half hours today for just this one airbag :eek:

if dunlop bag i don't think they're meant to unfold completely, mines still folded a wee bit fully extended
when installing and with fold, lower vehicle tiny bit so it doesn't misbave when inflated, did my first bag wrong somehow and it blew off

its a dunlop bag and is fully extended  il try that tomorrow even tried to roll up the bottom of the bag to take up some excess at that point i would have tried anything was at my wits end first lot of bags that i did were no bother at all :D

have you 2 jacks under affecting height sensor reading so system thinks all is fine and doesn't deliver air?

Might want to try swapping rear bags around, at least then you should know if it's an air supply issue or a something not right with that bag. Hope you have better luck today.

Could be the pipe going into it is leaking ,where you push it into the collet.
Also the pipe coming from it may also have a slight bend in it somewhere when you have positioned the air spring back in restricting air flow into the bag.
Be CAREFUL when inflating , they can do some damage if the top plate blows off. ;)

do you have any schrader valves that you can inflate the bag manually ?
if not with the air bag in place with the shock absorber connected and stand jack under the chassis and let the weight of the axle pull the bag to it full height can you inflate the bag and get the kink out if not sounds like a faulty bag

It sounds from your description like a lack of air pressure. The bag should always be inflated before the full weight of the car is on it. its getting decent pressure but wont inflate past the fold bag is like a Z shape if that makes sense
