Tyre advice

Hi All.

What advice can you give for fitting mud/snow tyres? I mean, will I need to put focus on anything mechanical? OK for MOT etc....

The wheels I have are standard 16s with 255/65/16 tyres.
I got a pair of these deep treaded tyres and want to see if they fit and what the impact is of fitting them.
At the moment I know the tyre fits the wheel, but with the extra tread it looks too much for the arch. Mind you I am looking while the car is on the bump stops. Pumped up to normal I hope all is ok, but the tread is adding an extra inch plus all around.

If you only have two of them then I wouldn't fit them. Running different diameter tyres at the same time can cause damage to your VCU.

I was not going to fit until I have all 4. But I am starting to doubt whether I should at all. Maybe return these 2 and get 4 AT tyres.

I checked and it helps when the suspension is not on the bump stops.

Started it and pumped it up to high then back to normal, looks like they will fit in the arch. Will be tight if it drops though.

Will not run it with odd size ones on if it will do damage, so will wait for the other 2 as it looks like they will fit.

remember if eas fails your down on your stops and this can happen anytime anyplace,anywhere was that a advert for flake ?

Yes very true. I keep a means to reset the EAS with me all the time though.
On the whole I tend not to go too far these days.
Looking at road tyres on the other wheels come springtime too.

James, i'll put some pics of mine with the AT2's on tomorrow. i'll do them a the 3 heights so you can see. i'm running the 16's as well now.

i know i fitted them but best size for a 38 imo.bet your glad you took my advice dave:tea:

Any wheel tyre combo you fit should have approximately the same rolling radius as the original spec or the speedo will be out, so there should be no need for extended bump stops.
