hi everyone, looking for a bit of advice.ive got a 1999 4.6 p38.engine will turn over but no fuel or spark.this is intermitent and no warnings on dash.sometimes the cental locking activates itself, and when this happens ,it starts fine, ive tried replacing the rf rf reciever with a new updated one but makes no difference, worrying thing is that on way home tonite it cut out whilst on duel carraigeway, luckily didnt cause an accident.anyway it wouldnt restart so called breakdown.waited an hour and heard central locking clickin so thought id try starting again and it fired up just as breakdown truck pulled up,got him to follow me home and cut out again...really dont know where to start,so if anyone can help in anyway id be soooo greatful.....

it turned out to be the cankshaft sensor, all up and running again....till the next problem anyway....

What was wrong with the crankshaft sensor? Was it damaged? Basically there is nothing in it to fail. I replaced the one on our '99 after a week of intermittent starting problems but when I took the old one out the pin was at 45 degrees which I guess was caused by a bit of the starter motor which self destructed a few weeks previous.
