Hi All,
This weekends job is to fit a Split Charge Unit STC8875

The instructions tell me to disconnect the battery, I have the CATS code and the Key code anything else I should know?

what year and engine is fitted,if it,s a v8 thor you can,t wire it in to the fuse box as per the fitting instructions,as i had problems wiring mine up,i ended up speaking to the tech department at solihull, and the reply was basicly buy an aftermarket split charge from a caravan shop, and wire it in as per there manufacture instructions, and then run the wire from the socket into the split charge.typical land rover.

so long as you have your eka code and radio code you should be ok,but if memory serves me well, the kit is in 2 halfs,i fitted the socket and ran the wiring down to the front first, then i just removed the earth lead from the battery and fixed the relays to the body work and the little earth cable thats when i relised i couldn,t fit the wire into the fuse box,as there was no room,2 weeks later, after numerous phone calls i removed the relay and it,s associated wires, and fitted one from a caravan shop, which was a bit of a bugger

Thank you for the information Andy.

I wonder what will go wrong when I disconnect and then reconnect.

have a look in my font of all knowledge thread, I put a guide to removing & fitting a new battery without losing all ya codes etc. basically you need a boost starter pack or second battery and a set of jumpleads.
