Now clutch problems

Hi everyone, having problems with my clutch now, i will push it down and it doesnt feel as though there is anything there only slightly right at the end, if i want to put it in gear i have to really jam the gear stick! 1st is the worst, checked slave cylinder no leaks, clutch/brake fluid levels are fine, any ideas ? friction plates or something

try bleeding it-if it goes and reappears it's a scored master cylinder

Try a power bleed on it. Probably have a pocket of air trapped at the end of the pedal stroke.

i "bleed" from below by attaching a syringe and tube and blow fluid up forceing the air out better.

My DSE is suffering similar probs since a new clutch kit and DMF was fitted last week. It doesnt play up all the time and when it is being arsey its almost feels like the clutch arm isnt pushing over enough to completely clear and free the clutch to let the gears change.....

Any Ideas???

was gonna try bleeding mine up later today but thinks the rain is in for the day

is there any way of adjusting the clutch like you would a cable?????

asuming you`ve checked cylinders it sounds like could be nacked clutch arm.

you have got to be ****ting me are we talking about one in the clutch housing???

Hi all,
I have similar problem with my 87 RR. Put in new slave cylinder yesterday but can"t get any presssure when bleeding. Tried hooking up a tube to the bleeder screw on the slave and filled with fluid to reverse bleed but still nothing. I know from previous experience these things are a bugger to bleed but has anyone found a sure fire method to bleed these things. Somewhere I had heard that its best done on a steep slope with the car facing nose down. Problem is I can't move the car to get to a hill anyway. Any tips appreciated.

make sure the master cylinder is free,tap it after every time you have released pedal.
If it has gone too far/stuck it will not bleed

Have you any experience with the pushrod that goes into the slave cylinder, mate reckons the slaves not pushing it in far enough and can't build pressure but I am dreading the though of that as the problem. With the slave off the rod only sticks out about an inch .
