as i did a previous thread my bonnet wouldnt open and people was saying its a bastard of a job and had to lay underneath it, well i found a way to do it which only takes a few minsand doesnt invole laying underneath or shreading hands or arms anywhere:) 1st undo the screws in the bottom of the front grill that will pull out far enough to get your hand in to feel where the cable goes to then if you get a straight rod and make a hook on it you can put it thru where the cable runs and feel it catch the release and with that one pull and it opens i tried this on the bonnet release on both sides and works well only takes a few mins, hope it helps you guys out if you ever need it saves laying underneath:D

I replaced the bonnet on the P38 and was scared that when I shut it before djustment I would never get it open again so I attached a wire to each side of the release mech , brought out through the rad grill and attached a leccy block connector to it. Pushed it back inside the grill but I can reach it any time I get a jam.
Worth thinking about.
