BUT if you buy a licence you can swop it to another vehicle, but you cannot without buying another licence and swopping it back use it on the first vehicle. Only for the FCR.

The MSV will work either on a limited 1 to 3 vehicle basis with a licence for each vehicle, or you can buy it with a multi vehicle licence which is unlimited.
I'm about to buy the latter with a limited number of modules for my particular needs.

I would have liked to wait for Storey but I have a particular problem to resolve. By going for multi vehicle, I hope to be able to recoup a little of the expense as there is no LR service close to me in France, but I have 2 mates here with the same model P38's who are too tight to contribute but will pay a modest sum for diagnosis when (not if!) they have problems

Thats not quite true. Yes it has three identities, but you are not limited to single vehicle licences on those. You can completely mix and match. Like I said I have an SV licence for all the ECU's on my P38 on one identity. On my second identity I am building up multi vehicle licences. If my wife or friend drove a D3/4 or L322 I could add a further SV licence on the third identity to give me full coverage on that individual vehicle too as I continue to build up my multi vehicle modules on identity no.2.

FYI.. I am gathering interest on the goodies you require!.... I no your in Sunny France, but.......... I did post an FCR to S Ireland when i did the FCR group buy, it cost £10:50 - + , that was for an insured & signed for parcel... I an not sure of the weight & size of an MSV but i think would not cost much more?.Have a think about it..........?

I am definately in if it goes ahead in the not too distant future. Postage is not a problem, it can go to the Uk or France. Thanks for your efforts on our behalf

True, I should have been clearer, but for me that would be an expensive way of doing it, I have 2 P38's to start with plus my 2 mates with similar age cars so I need only a limited number of multi vehicle modules.

That makes sense. I have no issues at the moment. I have the Easunlock software and cable which is excellent. It would of course be nice to have a diagnostic kit to plug in and check for issues on service. If i have a need in the absence of the forthcoming possibly more versitile Storey unit then i would go for a Faultmate FCR, but still maintain it is on the top side for what is in effect a code reader. Land Rover have a lot to answer for making their version of OBDII a niche market. But then again you cannot blame people for taking advantage of it. Good business acumen i suppose.
