Default Differences between various Range Rover Models

Hello all, I do have a bit of a knowledge about some models but one of my mate is very interested in Range rover and is looking forward to buy an LPG converted. I have refered him to this forum but he wanted to know the main differences between the SE, HSE, Autobiography, Vogue and other models if possible. Can someone throw a bit on knowledge on these so I can print out the page and give it to him to make his mind up. Also, which ones is the best in terms of fuel, Petrol, Diesel, LPG, Automatic or manual transmission. He was worried about the gearbox going on these, would you recommend one which has had a new engine....

Thanks for the help chaps

Looking at that site, my '95 4.6 HSE has more interior wood than most of those. Hmm. Strange.

Pete-M,
My 95 HSE has wood door trims and a bit of dash and a bit around the gear shift, if yours has more it may have had a trim kit fitted at purchase or later.

DJ factor,
I almost bought the Holland and Holland it's really and old mans car (would suit me) but sadly it had seen a lot too much work. Three times the milage of my 95 and had too many faults for the price.
It was like a time warp, it even had a VHS player, the wood trim is the wood their guns are made of and the leather is of super quality. Beautiful car for an old fogey like me.

The differences are think, although i expect someone will correct a few things.

County (4.0/2.5 dt)
coth seats Not eletric, No Climate Control, 16" alloys

SE (4.0/2.5 dt)
Leater, Climate control, (Possible Heated Front windscreen) TC might be on the rear wheels only pre 99. 18"Alloys

HSE (4.0/4.6/2.5DHSE)
More wood, HarmonKardon Stereo, front fog lamps, Auto dipping mirrors for reversing, eletric heated seats on both sides, Colour coding, 18"Alloys
>99 spec
TC on all wheels
Revised interior, leather door inserts, chrome handles, colour coded dash. Thor engine. Side airbags.

The Vouge replaced the HSE.
Standard rear cup holders, colour coded bumpers but i believe that their was a cross over as I have seen some earlier Vouges.

AutoBiograhy
Standard HSE/Vouge spec but with additions requested by the buyer, eg, different coloured piping on the seats / full wood dash etc, Carbon air filtration kit, Rear Picknic tables.

Special editions had different spec as well. I think the Holand & Holand, Beaudoux are based on the SE spec.

Satnav was an option on all HSE, Vouges etc..

Standard spec, Eletric Mirrors, windows, sunroof. Aircon, Air suspension, 4spd Auto or manual 5spd. remote locking, alarm etc etc....

Hope this helps abit.

Hiya Guys,
So am i right in thinking, that there are only 3 models of Rangie, i.e. the classic, p38 and the l322. But there are different specifications on each model?

your correct in saying 3 types of range rover(well 3 and a half with the lse)but each of those models have different spec varients ie bottom to top of the range. Vogue or HSE are fairly kitted out with gadets.
