The earth/negative lead came off my car today all on its own, took out all electrics!!! how nice of it!!!

oh and guess what, yep thats right, i couldn't start it as the engine was disabled!!! how good is that??

had to ring LR and get the damn EKA code, only to find out that the door/sill lock was sticking on the door card and wouldn't function correctly with the key. car managed to lock itself and refuse to unlock with key or fob buttons!

somehow i managed to dupe the car into opening the boot(either that or i failed to notice the boot unlocking whilst trying to stop myself burning the car where it stood!) after removing the door card and ensuring lock worked (later turned out connecting rod was slightly bent and required teasing back to shape) tried the four digit key sequence, wouldn't work, kept trying and got lockout!!! now things really got annoying!

turns out you have to turn the lock four times to get the system into the mode that lets you put the code in!

it's not or i didn't think it was, very clear on this site: Security and Alarm System Operation & Diagnosis on Range Rover 4.0/4.6/P38A
that you need to do this. so if it helps anyone DO turn the lock 4 times to enter the mode that lets you input your 4 digit code!!!

hope this helps!!!
