I have been having intermittent issues where, I turn the key and the engine doesnt start(wont even turn over). allot of mistakes always get made here so I will say again the engine doesnt even turn over.

After looking at the forums I am guessing it is the ignition switch. My questions are:-
Does anyone know if the whole switch has to be replaced?
Do you have to have new keys, locks etc

And the biggest question how the hell do you get it out of the console as I stripped the panels off the centre console but cant seem to get it out?

Any help would be much appreciated many thanks in advance

Alex

A lot of patience is required here - mine had a similar fault - took the garage 7 weeks of head scratching to fix - still don't know how they managed it in the end - all not really helpful I know!

Could be an immobiliser issue, gearbox issue preventing starting

Have you tried the spare key too ?

The key barrel comes out with the rest of the centre console

Rave will explain removal. It doesn't take long once you know.

Yes its a tricky one.

Unfortunately dont have a spare key. I am not sure if its the inhibitor switch or ignition switch tbh, i sprayed some penetrating spray down the barrel (i know its not recommended) a couple of days after that it started working and worked for months after but has now started playing up agin so this is what makes me think its the ignition switch.

The console looks tricky to me.

yes must get a spare key soon!!

So has any one got any info on removing the centre console?

thanks

Get hold of the "Rave" online workshop manual. It will explain the removal.

Like I said earlier, not a bad job to remove the centre console.

Only took me 20 mins to remove the lot when i had to replace my faulty airbag ecu that was buried at the bottom !
