Thanks Guys.

The guys at DCV tell me that they checked the Regulator when it was in last week.

I also spoke to Sure Start, and injection specialist in Doncaster. They tell me that they know DCV and that DCV are pretty clued up.

Will keep you updated, once i hear from them again.

saw this link on another thread .. courtesy of Andrew McIntyre :

index

shows an exploded diagram of the hp pump ..

got to thinking .. faced with a knackered pump ..
might be a worthwhile project to find a scrapped item .. and attempt to rebuild it ..
couldn't be any harder than rebuilding an engine ..
( if the relevant how-to info were available )
has pistons etc ..
would just need a place to test it .. once rebuilt ..
i.e. given the fuel pressure involved ..

disclaimer: in the past i've rebuilt engines .. but never a diesel hp pump :)

You would be surprised at the number of people that confuse the fuel pressure sensor with the fuel pressure regulator...

HD3 - if i had the time and the tools here and didnt need the car for a while, that looks like something that I could attempt.

DCV called they changed the pump an it start properly now. Since I left the filters, etc in the car ready for the service, they changed these too (wonder what the labour is on that!)

See what happens when i get it back......
