What's it worth?

Just introduced myself in the right part of the forum.

I've got my self a Landrover now, but would be interested to know what it's value really is:

1981 Series 3 Lightweight
47,000 miles
Failed on Mot, only tiny things like wiper not too good, poor earth on the left hand headlamp and a small bit of welding in the rear of the chassis where the spring attachs. This is being done this week for retest as well as new mid and rear part to the exhaust so it will have full MOT.
2.25 Petrol, starts and runs very well
Overall good condition inc chassis and bulkhead is good.
Both full rear hood in good condition, plus a very new bikini type hood just over the cab - going to refit the full one for this time of year.
New brake cylinders all round with braided lines and new shoes.

I would love to know what it's worth if I needed to sell, I don't think I'm going t sell it, looking forward to having a toy, however I'm do tight I always have second thoughts!

well this sure sounds like you want to sell it, if not you wouldn't be asking what its worth and describing it in such a way that sounds like an advert

Just curious really. Sure I won't once I get it back from the work and driving in it!

Seen them go for 1800 with mot before, more if it looks good and not an old scrag.

theres another bloody good reason for anyone to ask what a series landy is worth besides selling it on

its when the insurance ask what the value of the vehicle is he can give a verry accurate and educated answer so in the event of the vehicle being either written off or stolen he wont be out of pocket

thing is i am selling mine in the coming few weeks but i want to sort out her little niggles and put a fresh MOT on before i do sell it and all because i wont ever sell anything knowing something is wrong

You'd get a better idea if you posted some pictures of your series then people on here can better think of a value

I'll get some pics up when it's back from MOT end of the week, then go ahead and tax the thing and use it!

I always have doubts spending money but sure I will enjoy it!
