What tyre pressure 235/75/16

What tyre pressure are people using for these size tyres?

Depends a bit on whether they are rated at 104 (Normal) or 108 (Reinforced / Extra Load).

The 108s could be ran at 26psi.
The 104s could be ran at 28psi

Either way the maximum should be no more than 30psi for road use even with a full load.

With these tyres you are considered to be 'over-tyred' for a Freelander - no problem with that but if you put the pressures up to what these tyres are normally at - on a much heavier vehicle - they will be far too hard and you will feel every pebble on the road as a major bump. Very uncomfortable and the tyres will wear in the centre of the tread.

I'm surprised you got them on, any pics? Cant be much clearance on the spring seat and the gearing will be quite a way out. Not a problem on the road but hill starts and laning will upset the clutch.

I was assuming that the OP has used some chunky spacers.

Yes - I'd like see pics of these too as there can't be any clearance without spacers so the tyres could possibly foul on full lock.

Don't know about the pressures but how did you manage to fit those tyres on a Freelander without a bit of tin snipping ! they're almost 30" dia, what width spacers have you used ?.

ive got 225 75 16 all terrains on my lifted fl1 td4
i have pumped mine upto 30 psi with no problems, ive had them 2 years and done approx 15,000 miles and they still have approx 8mm of tread on all 4 , although they are a bit noisy

sorry, they are 225 not 235, DOH

That makes sense, thats the same size as I am running with 30mm spacers, they clear the struts ok but come very close to the rear of the front wheel arches when on about half lock, had to take my mud flaps off because they did rub on them, imho 225/75/16's are the biggest that can be fitted without major tin surgery ;)

Yes - those pics are def 225 as my 235/55 17s have a little less clearance than that.

I run them no problem without spacers - even under hard cornering.

I have 10mm spacers for the front and 7mm for the rears only for when I fit 9mm chains all round in Austria.

The tyre pressures I quoted in an earlier post still hold good.
