Hello 4x4 fan's
Bought a freelander 1 both IRD and Rear diff check out ok only problem is I bought the vehicle (very cheap might I add) without propshaft and VCU but have managed to source the whole lot, prop and VCU off a friend of a friend but just need to know what tools are required to remove prop at IRD and DIFF and also what is needed to remove the VCU bearing's??
Any help will be hugely appreciated :)

The bolts at the rear prop are either 17 or 19mm from memeory.
The bolts on the front of the IRD unit are either long torx or allen bolts with 10 or 11mm nuts.
Center ird bolts are 10 mm.
I'm told that you can move the center bearings with a bearing puller or you can tap them off with a mallet sometimes.

Yep can't go wrong with a good quality socket set and a torque wrench to start with :). A pair of ramps as well, makes getting around underneath alot easier.

The six nuts at the front are 13mm the bolt ends are torx sockets.
The center bearings can be pulled with a normal bearing puller and refitted with a 30mm brass tube!!

I'm just going to remove the whole prop including VCU, so won't be removing the VCU from the prop.
So I just need a set of spanners, socket and torx set??
