Looking to get a tow bar for my 04 td4 SE.

It came with a genuine one when i bought it but as i was 21 i didn't have the towing part on my licence so i took it off and sold it.

Now i could do with getting a tow bar as im now going to be doing the tests to get the trailer part for my licence.

So what bar is best, flange, swan etc.
What do you have and how do you like it?

I will be towing a trailer, no caravans.

Swan-neck definitely.

I tow only trailers - and it looks neater with the one socket on it.

Less places to catch mud and rubbish.

It's also easy to give a freshen-up coat of paint every year or so with the shiny Hammerite - just like the rear brake-drums - and the wheel-nuts too.

Singvogel.

i do not like the swan neck ones sorry singvogel i much prefer the gb type with the 2 bolts whcih you can put a bike rack on as well if you so want to

Just fitted a witter one on mine. Not used it yet but it was a dodle to fit! Got it off eBay, technically secondhand but unfitted still in its box complete £75 ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338572618.703419.jpg

My Simbars bike-rack fits on the spare wheel carrier.

I can still tow the trailer when the bikes are loaded. :D

It's horses for courses - as usual.

I had a GB type on my first Freelander and I was always painting it to cover up the rusty bolts.

S.

Here's a picture of the original towbar, not the best though.
Is it good enough for anyone to identify what kind it is?
