A couple of questions if anyone can answer them, Disco td5, 1999 GS model, can you retrofit traction control to this vehicle? Mine doesn't seem to have it for some reason Also, can anyone tell me what bulbs I will need for dashboard lighting, ie clock, climate panal etc?
Thanks in advance

OK.
If your Disco is definitely a Series 2 it WILL have traction control, and this should be obvious from lights that light up on the dash. Cos this is all part of the ABS system and also the Hill Descent Control.
If you have only ABS than you have a Disco series 1
Are you confusing traction control with Central Diff Lock?
Cos if you are, no you won't have it, or actually not all of it.
The bits you need will be in the box but your hi-lo lever will not action it.
There are ways to overcome this.
Have you tried to get traction control to work, by driving hard on a slippery surface? Wet grass will do, especially when turning.
Best of luck.

Bulbs like below with different colours. Some are coloured by a wee rubber like cover.

Thanks for the replies, bulbs traction control, I might have been jumping the gun, I read some documentation that came with the car that said the TC was disabled! I thought, as it does have HDC and ABS it should have it as well. Like I say, jumping the gun, maybe I need to find some mud and have a little play to see as for the CDL, it apparently has one that is operated by solenoid, via a switch, again need to check that out. Basically I need to go mud plugging and see don't I

It may be that the previous owner preferred a central difflock as on the series one, to Traction Control, which it has been seen others do as well.
So he may have disabled TC and fabbed up a solenoid operated diff lock control.
He has more or less certainly disabled it electronically, which I will not comment on as there are others better qualified to do so.
If it were me I'd get TC working again and have both.
But again others on here will comment as having both needs to be got to grips with.
Interesting!
Best of luck.

Yeah, that's one of the things that appealed to me with this car, the idea of TC and a CDL, have noticed when I switch the ignition on that the TC light comes on and goes out with rest as it should. Think I need to find me some mud and see if everything is working

No need for mud; wet grass, gravel, even wet tarmac will demonstrate if it is working. Just try full lock and a burst of accelerator from a standstill. you'll hear it buzz and the TC light will come on. Does it almost every time it is wet pulling out of the drive in our place in France which is steep, from grass/gravel onto tarmac, at about 45 degrees to the road.
