TD5 clutch wear

Hi Guys
I have a 2002 TD5 Discovery which came with no service history. Now I’m wondering there no way you can check clutch wear is there. The bites not right at the top but I have no idea if it was ever replaced got a good bit of use coming up for it. Just wondering if I just pull the box

Hi. Put it in 3'rd gear and try to move forward like when you do it in 1'st from stationary without exceeding 2500 rpm.. if it goes smoothly you need a new clutch ...if it's shaking or stalling the clutch is still ok
