Hi all Having a bit of engine trouble at the moment. I'm getting what sounds like a tapping/ticking type noise coming from the engine occasionally. It only happens when holding a constant speed, it stops if I put my foot down or off the it's back once I'm at constant speed again. It also runs a little jumpy whilst its tapping. This only happens every now and then I can run for 100 miles with nothing then tapping for 10 miles nothing for another 10 etc and it actualy runs really smooth while it's not doing it.
I think I've read other posts which sound similar with people changing injectors, fuel pumps, filters etc. but is there anyway I can test the infectors or anything myself first as a start before I have to pay for garage tests?
Don't really want to go down the route it sounds others have getting everything changed but not really sorting the problem, anything I can check myself would be a good start
