Can anyone point me anywhere that I can source a 'tank strap' for a 2001 TD4? MOT up on the 28th and garage has told me it needs changing - Landrover have it listed as an obsolete part and so far none of the aftermarket places the garage has tried, have one.

thanks Ratty, Rimmers don't have it and I have yet to hear from the other line of enquiry - how can it be an obsolete part? There are still so many on the road!!! Think it may have to be fabricated!

worst case scenario is getting a secondhand one from a scrappy.

cws in Glastonbury may have one (they're a landy breakers), but they can be expensive for secondhand parts.

Make an alloy plate to cover the bottom of the tank and bolt it up - they are not allowed to remove anything in an mot so it will not be a fail then.

try midlands 4x4 in north Street Cannock he has loads of freelanders in and it is just up from Cradocks they somtimes advertise on Fleabay sorry I do not have there number

Jon Daunter never came up with the goods - garage fabricated something for me - cheers guys
