Here's a pic of my engine bay - see if you can spot the Synergy. :D

Clue #1: Its wrapped in bubble wrap for shock-proofing, then its in a Zip-Lock bag for water-proofing.

Clue #2: Top right.

Have you got the dash switch option? There's a handy rubber grommet you can use.

Yes, it is - down a little and to the right of the servo.

Fitting the Synergy itself doesn't take that long - it's getting the cables clipped in tidy and secure that takes a little longer.

The end result is great.

Let us know what you think - are you changing the MAF too?

Frontosa - have you informed your insurance - did they charge you more for having the mod?

funny thing my insurance co insured my last freelander td4 manual with this synergy fitted no problem. When i informed them i changed my car for another freelander (auto) with the synergy fitted they said they will not insure it cos its not a modification fitted by a company. so am looking around before i take it out again.

Well done so far - a very mucky job - you'll have dirty finger-nails for a month! ha ha.

Is a MAF change worth it? Depend on how far out your existing MAF is.

RoverRon says they all go out of spec over time. Mine was 6 years and 86K old. Before I bought anything I tried running with the MAF disconnected and I got a bit more power, so according to Ron it could be 'compensated for' by the Synergy2.

After I got the Synergy all set up I tried it with the original Bosch MAF and with the MAF boost section of the Synergy off. I then tried it with the Pierburg MAF and all parts of the Synergy switched on. That was much better.

I'm now running on position 8 - that's high torque and medium power.

Have a good read of Ron's website - so far my findings have agreed with all he says.

Good luck,
Singvogel.

ps check out about the dying duck noises you may get ith the EGR by-pass fitted- an easy little mod. to the small braid vacuum pipes.
