I have installed a new spill/return pipe and t-pieces but I still am getting a small puddle on top of the engine. I've looked closesly at the T-piece connectors on top of the injectors but can't see any leaks even when reved up.

Now I'm thinking one of the injectors must be leaking diesel up out of engine. The studs holding down the injectors look in very good condition so I'm guessing they might of come out sometime in the past. I don't have any service history to this car.

Has anyone had problems with injectors leaking diesel up out of the engine?

Engine is a Td4 112,000 miles

Yes have alook down the hole where the injector sits you may well see what looks like black sealent it is not you do not use it on injectors you need to take the injector out and clean it and put a new sealing washer in and tighten it down but not to much you will start snapping things hope this helps

Are you sure it's diesel? There is a common fault whereby the windscreen washer jets are either cracked and leak washer fluid or the units themselves are not sealed and so rainwater drips in - or of course both ( happened to me) - the water lands on the oil filler cap and also drips down into the injector well - often rusting the bolts that screw down the injector collars.

I have the same problem, I have replaced the return pipe, but again getting the smell of diesel, and the return pipe is moist with diesel, and puddles around injectors.

This is most noticeable after long run.

Did you sort your problem?
What was it, or any other suggestions... please.

Thank you

The problem seems to have nearly disappeared. No more smoke or smell of diesel. There is still a small bit of residue but no puddle anymore. The return pipe was not to blame in the end, I think it maybe an injector.

In your case i'd suggest perhaps new rubber o-rings for your t-piece connecters on top of the injectors and new clips.

I tightened my clips by squeezing them with a pair of pliers and re-fitting.
