can anyone tell me how to sort the flashing display out on my freelanders cd/radio head unit...it flashes then goes off all together.

Is your landy a facelift model, is it a double din unit or single. There are a few types of land rover radio /cd player out there. So a bit more info is needed.

Td4 2005 face lift model.

its a 53 td4 s facelift...its a double din its working playing cds and radio its just that the display comes on fades out then goes off altogether.

is it the one you can take the face of if so try cleaning the points with a tiny bit of switch cleaner
