SRS air bag light on

That is just for the unit - that doesn't include the license for the software or the connection leads(?) - which is where the price of the kits comes in to play....expensive but worth it!

Nope, that price is the complete kit.

The actual hardware and lead was only £350 ish

The real con was the software licensing / modules

It is cheaper to buy it together than to buy separate modules on their own

Only downside is that it's locked to one car, which IMO is a bit of a con!

The fully open license costs like £4K !!!

maybe one day, i cant see how anyone could own an l322 and not have some form of diagnostic kit. my allcomms is quite good for the money i reckon.

is the airbag light on an MOT fail?

Yep, all comms is pretty good IMO for the money, I have both ;)

And yes a SRS light on would be an MOT failure

i wonder if that kit would allow me to reprogram my immobiliser link to the engine ecu?

Yep it would

Iv done it myself when adding more key's to the car :)

i've spent about £300 on that alone as when i disconnect by battery it wont start until they main dealer puts the code back in although it is still there??

the keys work fine, unlock the car, everything apart from it will crank and not start..

i kinda guessed the air bag light would be a fail, i must have upset some land rover god in the past and this is my punishment

Opps - didn't follow the link just assumed that was for the server and not the license

Yes the server is £350 or so...the kit £950

Read the first quote in my signature from dolphinboy, you're fine at the moment, just normal Range Rover ownership! :D:D:D:D

:eek:so it's you is it, i shall keep on your good side and maybe my light will go off, i'll sacrifice one of my gerbils and see what gives..:D

Latest update to allcomms seems pretty good.

mine stopped working for a bit after the update, just kept coming up with the red error in the bottom right hand corner although the TX RX lights were flashing.
the previous update happened automatically and then the allcomms said my license was already in use so they gave me another.
storey fixed it both times really quickly, answered my emails over the weekend, must have been the middle of the night where he was..

Well good news, I disconnected the 'battery disconnect unit' at the yellow multiplug by the battery, turned the ignition off, turned on ignition and the light was on, turned off ignition and reconnected it, ignition back on and light still on when I started.
I connected up the all comms and under the SRS section I did the usual open, read faults, then clear faults and left it with the rx and tx lights flashing and after about 20 seconds the red srs light started to flash slowly.
I left it for a bit, closed the connection and the light went out and is still out
I also had a canbus error on the eas that wouldnt clear and this also cleared once the srs was happy again :D

See, told you you hadn't upset me yet, told you that was the fault :D:D:D:D:D:D:p:p

Just to note for others - it is best practise not to disconnect any of the SRS wiring harness connections with the battery still connected - there is a potential the charge could go off....

Glad yours is fixed Andy...:D

you did indeed, i am not sure if it was the disconnecting bit or just giving the all comms more time to communicate but whichever it was, it worked.

i used my special safety squint that i do when i am facing potential death by explosion, its a face i pull but i cant guarantee it is an effective replacement to safety glasses or other PPE.;)

thanks again all

Updating my own thread here, but after my top radiator hose blew apart last weekend and the subsequent lorry ride home my battery was as flat as a witch's tits and after trying to jump it a couple of times i noticed the SRS light was on again.
Everything else fixed but still had the light and tried to clear with the Allcomms and it would go off and back on again showing the same fault.

Again I turned off the ignition, disconnected the yellow BDU connector on the battery, turned ignition on and ran the allcomms which gave the same fault. Turned ignition off, reconnected the yellow battery disconnect unit multiplug, and then turned on ignition, ran the allcomms and this time the SRS light started to flash when i cleared the faults and then when i closed the allcomms connection the light went off and stayed off.

now i know these units are potentially dangerous and fecking around with the SRS system is not recommended so do so at your own risk but in my eyes it is another win for me and the allcomms.
The RR will probably kill me one day anyway so i am looking at the cheapest way possible of arriving at the inevitable :)
