Evening all.
Just a quick one, is it possible to buy the rear panels off the tub, where the number plate and rear body mountings are? Mine have corroded along the bottom lip (oh and they're bent to Buggery!) or would it just be easier to get some sheet aluminium cut and folded?

Pricey!! When fitting them, is it acceptable to just pop rivet them all round (including to the base of the tub) rather than the faff and expense of spot welding for the sake of four spots? Just a right hassle finding someone competent enough to weld ally, that isn't a thieving b*stard!!! Can't see why it'd make any difference structurally, as most of the bodywork is held together with rivets anyway.

Glue them with Tigerseal, then pop rivet the cappings on. This is not a bodge, some cars have all there panels bonded nowadays, oh, and buy the OEM version, should be fine.

Smart thinking, can't believe I didn't think of that myself!

(sorry to sound stupid, but what does OEM actually mean?)

oem ,original equipment manufacturer,as in a part made by the same company that make them for lr,britpart sell alot of genuine and oem parts as well as pattern

wouldnt buy brit part, the cant even make a light switch last 6 months

Well I would genereally say the same. However, I rebuilt my tub incl both quarter panels. One was genuine still wrapped off EBay, the other Britpart. It was just as good, just as thick metal, plus even had the box section bracket at the top... that the genuine one didn't come with! Basically, 100% happy, and I don't buy BritPart, this was in error.

Go for it.

ive bought the oem parts, went a bit mad too, a bit like the wife clothes shopping, not that i needed the parts, but the were just so nice and shiney! :D
