Scotland tracks?

Anybody from Scotland? I'm up there on holiday for a week at the end of August and I'm looking to take the family off the beaten track for a couple of hours. I do quiet a bit of laning but it will be the first time the girlfriend and kids come for the ride, so I'm after some gently tracks in and around the Ayr area to break them in gently shall we say! Can anyone recommend a nice "drive in the country"?

I made enquiries not long ago re greenlaning in Scotland, the info I got back was from another LR forum, it appears there is only one "greenlane" in Scotland and that is the Corrieairack Pass way up in the North, its one of General Wades old Military roads. Apparantly there is something about the Scottish laws on tresspass that prevents us from driving off metalled roads. Hope this helps.
