hi guys i need to do some welding in the foot wells .so i think removing the wings is my best option .i have wire brushed and wd 40 the bolts do they come off fairly easy or is this going to be a big job . as in skining my knuckels even more than they are now its a sereis 2a .also anyone know how long those gas cylinders last from machine mart cheers

yeh thanks for that storm nice one thanks james hopfully long enough to plate the corners of the foot wells got to get the steel first its just the bottem corners .but when you start digging it always get worse cheers

if you do have to do it outside build a wind break around it,and if you drill 4mm holes in new patch you can spot weld it on often easier and butt welding is difficult,a good joggler helps make neat job

been thinking about doing that with a jogler looked a a post the other day on here and the guy had made a nice neet job . but his welding skills are also better than mine . cheers

try the spot welds if you havent before makes a real easy neat job ,use brushable seam sewaler to fininsh its like stuff originaly used

will give it a go . just got to get the wings off first need to do one side in a day as i like to use the landrover for work .and taking the dogs out so i dont wont it of the road for to long cheers

well took about an hour to get the nearside front wing off tonight only thr three bolts on top of the wings snaped all the rest came out good with a bit of gental persuasion .will get it all cleaned up and a couple of small patche welded on this week . just hope the other side comes off as easy
