Removing 2.5 V6 Engine

Hi all, anybody changed a 2.5 Engine out the top or does it have to be dropped out the bottom.

Welcome. I think they drop rather than lift. But depends on what kit/space you have. Easier to drop with auto and IRD attached then seperate I guess. Whats up with the old engine?

Make sure you undo the correct filler and drain plug on the jatco auto. Both on the bottom, not the side.

Hi Hippo, cheers mate, have got a intermittent overheating problem, runs ok then suddenly blows the coolant out of the expansion tank. Have fitted a new thermostat, blown out all the coolers and hoses and flushed the radiator. Had a new water pump fitted when I had the belts changed. Only thing left is a either a dropped liner or lifting head when hot. No coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant. Have managed to get my hands on a 2nd hand reworked engine by Vege out of insurance write off. Guaranteed. Life a bitch.
