It’s down to having faith in yer vehicle of choice. Reliable. Dependable. Performs when required and does so with the minimum of fuss. :D

I chopped the sound oft the video but I remember the words clearly when I saw the water coming up the bonnet: “feking el”. I also remember thinking it’s too late to reverse so if yer feks up yer scrap.

My 1.8s done deeper (slightly) it was floating, that's a strange sensation! It bobs about with different wheels touching down and drags itself thru!

In the video I posted mine only went below the water level at the front due to the ground dropping. I was doing ok until it did this. Looking on youtube water was deeper at the show this year. I didn't go this year. Every time I go through deep water soethig fails like the air con compressor pump clutch or drive shaft oil seal. So I don't do it anymore. It was a tratterer who advised this as he's stopped going through water too. Good advice I follow.

Mines ok with water, it's gloopy swampy stuff that's the problem, thats killed:-
Alternator
Front crankshaft oil seal
Plugs and leads
Another alternator
Starter and er, another alternator
Pas belt tensioner and two belts!

Strip and rebuild the alternator myself til it did the bearings too! Starter was a clean up job, engines now water proof so no more missing and mud filled plug holes

Thats a long list. I get fed up of cleaning it afterwards too. Having to fix it after water is just annoying. Means I get a weekend oft if I stay out of water. ;)

I've got the biggest varta battery I could fit cos this allows me to get home after alternator failure now:) worked for me once already!
