Hi folks - can anyone advise? Have a 2002 2.5 TD5 ES Auto, 55,000 miles on the clock, have owned from new and it had a service last week at a landrover dealer and is under warranty until September...... Had to have it towed back there today because (Landrover Assist diagnosed) car just produced loads of smoke, lots of noise and engine cut out when it slowed down and apparently he thinks it is a pourous cylinder head???

No idea what that means. Does anyone know how serious this is - if it is a correct diagnosis will/should the whole engine be replaced or will they try and fob me off with just a new cylinder and if they did would that be okay. Service highlighted oil leak from transfer box and the car needed rebooking which didn't know about until I read invoice today - could that have had anything to do with it?

How can this happen with such a 'new' car? It doesn't tow anything or do any heavy work? Can anyone arm me with the right vocabulary so I'm not fobbed off at the garage? Has this happened to anyone else? Last Discover didn't want to start in the winter and dealer never got to the bottom of it - don't want that to happen again....

Thanks!
