It was great fun! Let's hope it opens again - it is closed for repairs for 6 months, but if the NERC bill goes through then it will never re-open. Can't wait to go back if it does re-open - with better tyres next time!

Hey mmaddock, just saw your pic on best4x4xfar.com and had to check it was you. Looks like you had a cool trip! Did the rangie keep up alright? Off-roading in comfort, I bet the guy in the old Series felt evey bump!

Rangie was fantastic. I only got stuck at one place (109 got stuck at same place too!) was a combination of standard (very worn) road tyres and my limited off-road driving experience. If I'd been on the tyres I'm on now and had a bit more experience I don't think it would have got stuck at all. Fortunately Widget winched us both out!
