hi just need to know if the PAS high pressure feed pipe from the pump attaches to a metal pipe which connects to the rack
So Question's the PAS pipe to the metal pipe
1, is there a seal inside the end ? or
2, does it just push fit metal to metal ( tight fit ) or
3, the collar on the short metal [pipe to the rack with a rubber is just there to remove the high pressure pipe?

There's a rubber O ring seal in the joint.

The upturned rubber cup is a dirt seal. However it's attached to a close fitting metal tube, which is also upturned. Driving this collar upwards forces the C ring open, releasing it from the metal pipe.
It's best to clean out any dirt with brake cleaner before attempting to split the joint, and a quick spray of WD40 can also help is move more easily.
I use a 13mm spanner under the collar, then strike the underside of the hammer with hammer. This action should force the collar up into the C clip, which will release. It may take several attempts to do, but it should come apart eventually.
