paddock hd track rod

Hi all so after a days off roading at cowm quarry I bent my track rod. I ordered the hd track rod from paddock which came with a RH and LH thread track rod ends. Now obviously the new rod is pretty thick so it wont clamp onto the ends, my question is how do I stop the track rod rotating and adjusting the tracking while Im driving? Thought about putting a nut on each end but Its a fine thread and ones a LH thread, so doubt ill find a nut for it. Any ideas are greatly appreciated thanks

New track rod should come with locking nuts or clamps. No use if the ends cant be locked in some way.
Can you post a pic of it?
 
Struggling to get a photo up but the rods got flats on each end im guessing so yiu can put a spanner on and theres no slits in it so I imagine clamps wouldn't work. Might have to call paddock tomorrow to see whatvthey recommend

If the rod has flats on it, probably there are meant to be locknuts. are you sure they aren't lost in the packaging? or maybe paddock didn't put them in, it does happen sometimes. See what they say.
 
Set to the length you want then fit them-they cannot move ie shorten or lengthen once fitted (as they have opposite threads)

I had the same worries/ conundrum when I bought mine- but they are fine.
 
I did set them but once on I could turn the rod bu hand which changed the track. So I guess over time vibration would do the same

It wouldn't be my choice to do that! They should be locked in place.

thats why there locked with the half nuts so they cant turn.
you cannot set the tracking properly without locking one end first

Because they have opposite threads it will change the tracking as both joints will either move out or in depending which way it rotates, It needs locking.
 
Thanks for everyones help, phoned paddocks today and it should have come with locking nuts. They're in the post :)

DO not do this, with out lock nuts threads will wear and fail.
