Hi guys,
I just recently bought a 2002 freelander 1.8 petrol . When turn the fan on its bit noisy. The noise coming frm where the pollen filter is. Had a look and I can see the pollen filter housing broke and it has got big holes all around the housing.
Is this noise relating to that?
Any advice please.
Thank you

Check the big flexible air pipe that goes from the blower box to the centre console. It's easy for passenger to kick and dent it and the the fan hits it. Easy to push the dents out of it.

Took the pipe out and had a look the blower motor found some broken bits off pollen housing wrapped around motor. Took all the bits out n put the pipe back. no noise now when turn the fan.
Thank you for your advice.

The only thing I find is the blower motor is very noisy compared to the one in my MG. On that it's only just audible on position 1 with the engine off but the Freelander is audible on position 1 at 40mph!! The motor is fine it's just noisy. Although is could be that the Freelander is so quiet by comparison to the MG?

Mine isn't quiet at all! My girlfriend says that it's like driving round in a Lancaster bomber!
