Hi, pick my first freelander up on sunday (Td4 52 plate) just wondering (silly question going to expect funny answers) what size rear number plate do I need when changing private plates over.

Cheers

So long as it meets the regulations,

"Each character must be 79mm high and 50mm wide (except the number 1 or the letter I). The width of each character stroke must be 14mm. There must be a space of 11mm between characters within the same group, and character groups must be 33mm apart. For the purposes of measurement, each character (again, excepting the number 1 or the letter I), regardless of its shape, is treated as a rectangular block of dimensions 79mm x 50mm"

Then I dont suppose it matters if the plate is 8' x 4'.

Dont think it will be long before you wondered why you worried about your number plate.

Rear plate is about 11 inch wide and 8 inch tall. They stick them on rather than using screws.

thanks for the info, what do you suggest using to stick them on with? I usually just screw them on. I used adhesive pads once and it fell off within a day! Don't want that happening

Proper foam trim tape, 4 x3" strips is ussually enough, but make sure you clean every thing then degrease it! Cheap tape is pretty useless

Take yer log book and ID and order them from the main dealer. They have some great stuff which they put on mine, to stick them on, if your err erm... stuck. Thats what I did.
