Having purchased the incorrect part from GOS I decided to buy new parts for both sides, but there are a disturbing amount of parts available that are supposed to fit. Mine is a 2005 3.0 TDI Vogue and there seem to be several different parts on offer ALL supposed to fit!
I have tried using my VIN number as a guide but my Rangey was originally exported to Australia when new and there seems to be an issue regarding tracing the exact vehicle details.
For the record the new parts I am envisaging ordering are

ALL OF THESE DETAILS SEEM CORRECT BUT I AM LOATHE TO BUY IF THEY DON'T FIT...ANYONE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WHEN ORDERING PARTS?

Thanks for getting back, I know the right and left are entirely different, buy the problem is there seems to be various OEM's for the N/S...I am hoping that the one's I plan on ordering WILL actually fit! The reused one I purchased from G.O.S had the correct part number but someone had fitted a different CV joint during it's life and therefore it didn't fit mine. Very expensive error on my part because although GOS refunded the part price I still ended up parting with £180 inc VAT of my hard earned for the garage to take off the old one and then having to refit it! They did fill the CV full of Lubricant and retightend it so original knock has gone for now. I am going to 'foreniscally' examine the old part as it comes off this time and keep it in my parts replaced bucket!
