Hey folks.
just finishing off doing the turbo on this freelander TD4 and this pipe has been patched with insulating tape so i really would like to replace it, but, have no idea what its called to find another.

You can clearly see the pipe taped up.

If anyone has one of these on one their breaking... let me know. Will get a wanted thread up once i know what to call it.

Thanks for help.. please see my next thread relating to other bits.

THANKS JAMES.
Might aswell do this, provided no other damage comes up from turbo giving out.
Should be firing her up tomorrow. Just got drenched out there and mrs off getting her hair done so play has stopped for the day.

From your post I assume you have replaced the turbo, was this due to turbo failing. Reason for asking if so did you remove the intercooler and flush all the pipe work out, if not you run the risk of small bits being left in the pipe work and intercooler that can ruin the new turbo.

yes mate, changed turbo due to it having failed and when i took old out the turbo fan blades are chipped and is all wobbly. Oil was being chucked through the exhaust and engine nearly emptied.
Havn't done intercooler yet but was wondering what else i should do before i run her. made comment to that in another thread.
So.. whats the best way to flush pipes through and clean intercooler etc?

Best way is to remove all the pipe work and intercooler and get them steam cleaned, its a bit of a pain but its better than doing to turbo again

well you can flush them out with a pressure washer, a heated one is best but a cold on will do at a push, just keep the water flowing till you see no small bits coming out. Did tha crankcase breather block up, as in the past have found it take a long time to get all the bits of the filter out of the intercooler, the pipes are fairly quick to do.

yeh the crank case breather was gunged to hell and the air filter was black as the ace of spades.
both changed for new.
obviously i'm giving it a good service at same time and gonna have to clean up brake disks etc as been stood a few months now.
Will probably run it a while then do crank case etc again as bound to pick up more gunk.
If i get her working ok she'll be sold so want her going right with no issue.
