besides the position of reverse gear how can you tell the difference between a lt77 and r380?

Is there any difference in the transfer box on the lt77 and r380

Please note that, due to core availability, we may not be able to offer the LT77 50A variant Defender gearboxes. It may be that you will need to send your own unit to us for reconditioning or as an alternative you could consider upgrading to the direct fit

R380

The R380 gearbox was introduced in approx 1995 with the suffix J and has now evolved to the suffix L and this has been used until the end of the Disco 2's and until 2007 in the Defender when the 2.4 TDCi engine was introduced which uses the MT82. To see an

The LT230 (transfer box) is the same, there are different LT230's but these relate to output gearing and if they have difflock or not.
