The Old Coach Road from Thirlmere to Ullswater can almost be driven in a
family car. Fairly long with decent scenery.

Garburn from Troutbeck is a little rougher and steeper, very rough on
the Kentmere side.

A small dirt track called Green Lane off the Bowness to Winster road is
very overgrown and almost unused. It's an access road to fields and also
an alternative route to some houses so it will always be classed as a
road.

Enjoy it while you can.

Thanks Dan

Exactly where does the Coach Road start and finish. I can't find it on
the map.

Are these official byways? The one over Garburn is shown as a Bridleway
on my map.

Thanks

Peter
