My advice would be to get 1 of these...

Then go back to Friday and add international recovery to your AA (or what ever) cover.

Hopefully you'll get some F2 knowledge to help, but there's not a lot to go on there.

i have international recovery but the garage says it will cost £2000 euros to fix it has there diagnostic team say it is the cambelt and it has jumped. i had new belt fitted last year with water pump and belt tensioner so how can a car be parked for 2hrs then the cam belt jump

Welcome to the forum. You’ve not given us anything to go on. You say you’ve had the vehicle 10 years, yet you seem to have have no idea how it works. Do you have an OBD code reader? Do you do your own maintenance?
There are dozens of reasons it might not start.

P.S. Posted while Garry posted the above.

P.P.S. Telling us what engine you have would be a good start.

they will not recover the car because they say car can be fixed before i finish my holiday and need to get back to the uk.

Diesel TD4 or petrol engine, is it just cranking and not even trying to fire up, maybe try a battery re-set, is the battery good does it have enough hoomph, If TD4 how much fuel do you have in the car is it above the 1/4 if not try adding some fuel see if it starts then, when was the fuel filter last changed, lots of questions, but answers will help, us to help you.

I'm assuming it's a 2.2 diesel, as you say it has a timing belt.
Who said it's a timing belt issue? Have they physically checked the belt? A timing belt can jump at any time the engine is running if there's a fault with the tensioner or idler roller, but it can't jump when the engine is stationary.
How many miles are on it?
Does it sound normal when cranking it over, or does it sound different to normal?

Has it had a replacement crank sensor in the past?
