Whilst looking for something Landie related I stumbled upon, actually I was steered towards, a YouTube piece with Richard Hammond about the loss, search for and renovation of the first series 1. It’s not very long but it does show how emotional some people, alright then men of a certain age, get over four wheels and an engine. The heading on the video is Drivetribe so that might be where this story is to be found. Interestingly everybody politely dodges the key question my wife would ask …….. “How Much!!”

I must admit the shots of the landie bouncing along the rugged terrain of Mongolia on the chassis we saw as she was lifted out of the barn made me wince a bit. Without wishing to ruin the storyline or the romance of the whole thing and even with all the expertise on hand I suspect JUE477 was a bit like Triggers broom by the time it was rolled out ‘restored’. Still a great story though.
