Hi

Does anyone know which Sealey tool will remove the injectors from the BMW Td4 engine - there are two, VS2045 and 2049 both with different size adaptors for the injector thread. Other ercommendations for removal tools gratefully accepted.

I made sure the engine was hot, stripped off all the bits and bobs to get to the injectors and then removed by applying pressure under the injector using a jimmy bar. I got the idea from this youtube clip. Freelander Injector Removal - YouTube
All came out with little resistance, but getting the engine warm and I used plenty of penatration fluid was key to this working I think.

My Freelander had 97k on the clock at the time, so they'd been in there a while.

With your prybar, remember not to pry them up hard. Your just prying on a plastic rocker cover.

As Hay says , get the engine hot first.

Secondly , get your prybar sideways onto the front hp connector, and use that to just slightly twist the injector. Once its freed off and you have movement in it , it takes very little force to pry it up.

Wahay that's made my day - the video was mine - glad it's helped someone. I have taken all four out again since and it was as easy as the last time. However the engine must me hot - I tried it cold and it doesn't work easily.

I have also done it by using the same technique but with a stubborn one I left the fuel pipe attached but swung up and then tapped it side to side with a light hammer while prying it.

sorry angeloc for some reason I did not see the first of the thread well I have forgoten tips before now but that is just my illness atacing my brain as if I needed it
