Hi need some advice/help ive got a 200 td freelander (pre td4) and recently (the 3rd time today but gettin frequenter it seems) when ive come to start her up shes been dead but not the battery the coil light comes on battery light etc but when i flick the key nothing no sounds at all my guess would be the immobiliser (the battery in the fob is new ish) today however the van had not been locked at all but after some lock-unlocking with the fob and button on the console she started (tried rocking in gear and dont think its a sticky starter) but with me not locking her up its made me think what else it could be, i did notice that the dash light flashed agressivley for about 20 seconds when i was locking up when she didnt start, any1 had an issue and fixed it or have any ideas?

can the immobiliser bypassed easily or whats the cost of immobiliser if thats the prob?

Just happened again earlier seems its getting mor frequent this time i lifted the bonnet wiggled the fuse bat leads tapped the ecu and pressed wiggled the bonnet opened/closed switches it then started first time, nothing felt loose and the fuses looked good (infact nothing actually moved when i wiggled things) so im not sure if it was a coincidense or not,

reading the handbook it says that the immob does come back on even when not locked if after 5mins, and the fob must be nr the key, so is the immob turned on/off by the unlock button or is there a chip inside the fob which needs to be close to the ignition when starting the motor?

it has been sudgested maybe the ignition switch which i will swap anyway just incase?
