how many cooling fans should i have

Hello All,

Seems like a strange question, but how many fans should I have on a 1998 1.8 Freelander. It looks as if there should be two, as there is wiring and an appature for a second fan. My Freelander does not have air-con.

1 fan for non- AC models, 2 for models with AC

If you have a spare fan, it can be retro-fitted, not sure if it is plug and play, or needs to be controlled via a separate relay.
My current one has 1 fan, and I have a spare single fan from my last one I broke for spares, that will be getting fitted in the coming weeks

Thank you for your answer. I thought one had been removed for some reason. Good idea about a retro fit. I'll have a look at that sometime. Should also reduce the risk of overheating the dreaded K series.
