how do I fit fan belt range rover P38

Hi,
just had the water pump bearings fail on my range rover P38 'P reg'
I have managed to replace the pump and everything is ready to go eacept
I can not figure out how to get the fan belt back on.
Any help hints and tips much appreciated.

It's a serpantine belt isnt it? is it a 4.6? email me direct & i'll take a pic of mine for reference.

nige tried to email you but it was returned by the surver.
It is a 4.6 HSE
I have managed to get the belt around all of the pulleys just cannot
figure out how to release/relax the tensioner to get the belt around
the last pulley.

How did you get it off?????

If it's the same as the 300TDi there's a hexagon 'nut' on the shaft of
the pulley of the tensioner(not the nut holding the tensioner to the
mounting stud). Apply spanner (14mm?) and rotate to pull pulley clear of
the belt.

It's not quite as easy as it sounds with one pair of hands if you don't
have a custom spanner. Borrow more hands!
