Hi Guys.
Thanks for accepting me to Landyzone. I have used this site many time since buying my Discovery but only just got around to signing up.
Im from a town in the North east Called Darlington and i have moderate mechanical knowhow.
My Landrover is a 2004 Discovery TD5 Landmark in Gold. Bought it by accident but i love it.
So far the jobs undertaken include:-
  • New slave cylinder (20 min job. Cant get better than that)
  • New bias plate for gearbox
  • New parking sensors
  • Headlining out to sort leaky sunroof
  • Watts linkage (replaced all 5 bushes) Pain in the arse
  • New reverse light switch on its way
  • changed gearbox oil for mtf 94
  • front doors apart to fix both front windows mechanisms
Jobs left on the list
  • Full chassis clean down, repaint and under seal
  • transfer box and diif fluids
  • front propshaft rebuild (Parts on the way soon)
  • headlining out again as rear sunroof still wont work.
  • rust bubbles above winscreen
  • new windscreen.
Any advice on what else i should add to the list would be greatly apreciated as the last month has been a steep learning curve. If anyone from the north needs a helping hand im usually available and always up to meet likeminded discovery owners.

Thanks for reading a look forward to contributing the limited knowledge i have.

Adam

Hi Adam,

Welcome to the looneyzone.

A couple of things in case you do not know about them, but it sounds like you might already.

Visit this website: Lots of cracking good info on there.
http://www.discovery2.co.uk/

As you are putting in the effort , have a search for "oil pump bolt"...........there is a "how to" on the previous link.

Get a copy of the RAVE workshop manual.

Find or make a new friend with a nanocom / Hawkeye / Lynx................

Finally, just because I cannot resist, make sure you have the EKA code.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply.
That site looks just what i need.
I keep hearing about the rave workshop manual. Will have to get myself a copy. As for the EKA code????? might have to look further into that
Might have to get myself a picture taken for my thumbnail as well.

Cheers Neilly
