Hello All,
I hope you all can help me with this please .

I have a Land Rover tow bar on my Disco and yesterday moved a small trailer with it by a company called ERDE...my understanding is the indicators should make the green trailer symbol appear when i use the indicators.(Disco is a Jap import)
Nothing appears on the dash when using indicators.
In the handbook it says if it does not come on you have a bulb gone.I do not ,checked with a helper all work correctly.
Trailer has LED bulbs I was told if that makes a difference....Disco is very standard.

For most of Discos life he never had a tow bar...I put one on in 2020 during lockdown because I was bored.
I have a tow bar tester and that sayes all working fine....I understand that its a legal need to have this green trailer symbol working so thought i would try to fix it.

I have searched in the forum, found some stuff but not like mine when all bulbs work.

I wondered do i need do adjust something with Mr Nanocom?
Thank you all.

I think you are overthinking this.
In the scheme of things Land Rover, this is a minor problem.
With no trailer hitched up your truck will still pass its MOT.
With one hitched up you are already happy all is working OK/
So no worries!!!

Fit resistors to the trailer indicator circuits or change LEDs for lamps with conventional bulbs.
Thank you do i fit them in the trailer wiring i assume?...I read that the Land Rover wiring for the TOW bar had resistors in the loom, but from memory never saw any in the socket . I only fitted the basic socket, did not fit eon that charge the caravan fridge etc.

I know it helps to confirm that you haven't lost the trailer somewhere on route, but wasn't aware it was a legal nicety. LED generally don't draw enough current to trigger the "I am towing a trailer" indicator and for that reason, amongst others, LED's are the work of the devil. They should be banned!
Just my humble opinion. :p

Here we go have a read on this ...they say since 95 you have to have a warning device audible or visual.I am not going to worry to much ...new bulbs would be easy to do i hope!
Thank you all for your input.

On my 96 with normal bulbs on the trailer I just get a “flash” from the dash, sometimes, when using the indicators, I’m not sure when the light is supposed to come on, on the dash.....it’s not a legal reqt in NZ for sure.
