Good Morning all fellow hippo owners :)

I'm looking at changing my inlet manifold gasket at the end of the week and one of the initial tasks according to the 'Haynes' book is to depressurize the fuel rail first.

Of course according to 'Haynes' it says press the sides of the 'quick release' connector on the fuel rail and it will just pull off easily.

We all know that in the real world it means squeeze the crap out of it and apply several hundred tonnes of leverage and the item will then disintegrate in you hand meaning you have to replace something even bigger and more expensive.

After searching on this and other places can anybody tell me if the 'quick release' connector does physically move and if i do break it can i use a small tight hoseclip instead to replace.

I await with eager anticipation all of the usual comments from all of the bobble hatted mud plugging tractor driving brigade :)
