I'm confused.
I have read posts talking about an LP fuel pump in the tank and another one in the engine bay. But I have also read posts about a pump in the rear driver's side wheel arch. Am I mis-remembering or getting muddled up with a filter in the wheel arch...but then I thought I head read about filters in the engine bay....

Like I said, I'm confused.
Can anyone tell me what I have in a late 2004 TD4?

As far as I know the facelift model was introduced in October 2003.

I am under the impression therefore that prior to Oct 2003 there was an in-tank pump and in the engine bay there was another pump and the filter.

Wheel arch located pump and filter would therefore be after Oct 2003 - so on facelift models only.

Has anyone got a pump location that proves the above deduction wrong?

Perhaps there is confusion regards the exact change over date??

LandRover have done such things before.

There should be no such confusion with 2002 models or 2004 models.

Singvogel.

There are 2 fuel pumps , the primary pump is in the left rear corner of the engine bay there is a fuel filter in this bracket also. The injector pump is situated on the front of the engine block.

Hope this helps

Fuel pumps changed in 2002 before the facelift so for that year go by chassis # or physically check for underbonnet filter/pump.

Thanks for all the replies. When the spring comes and the weather warms up I'll have a good look before doing the service.

P.S. I know about the injector pump. I should have said, but my question was specifically about LP pumps
